Yep, we met through an app. Our first date was strategically located right in the middle of our two apartments at the Brooklyn Inn. Sean couldn’t stop talking about Fuller House and I blabbed about work too much. There was definitely a “like” happening between us and as the dates continued, it grew to be a “love.” Fast forward more than a year, Sean asked me a couple of times to go for a walk in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and each time he was rejected. It was too late, or I was too lazy. On Saturday, December 16th, Sean asked me again, but during the day this time. Our walk got held up as I had to deal with a work issue for two hours, but we finally made our way out as the sun started to fade. Sean guided us down Pier 5 in Brooklyn and I obliged because it was the holder of my favorite spot in the city. As we walked down the pier, I shared with Sean for the umpteenth time why that was so. During my runs, I like to break for a moment of gratitude while I enjoy the beautiful New York City skyline. I think to myself how grateful I am for my family, friends, my relationship, my health, and that I haven’t messed up my life yet. I went on a bit more about the topic of marriage and family, and as we reached the exact line that signifies my favorite spot, Sean pulled out a ring and asked, “will you marry me?” Even though we had been discussing marriage for a while, I was shocked, surprised, and didn’t believe him. After reassurance it was really happening, I said yes, accepted the very perfect ring he had helped design, and we kissed and embraced. Wedding planning quickly commenced, and six months later, we got married on the very street where we live exactly one year to the day after we moved in together. -Monica
