We met through some mutual friends. I was hanging with some of my besties in the Spring of 09' (at one of their boyfriends place, who Fareed also happened to be friends with). We all decided to play a few board games (taboo and jenga), because who doesn't love board games. As fate would have it, Fareed sucked terribly at taboo and I made the blocks collapse in jenga, two losers (literally) with some common interests, and the rest is history!
We've grown together and have become the best of friends (confidants, girlfriends, you name it ;o) hehe). We share a love for God, family, friends, animals (a special place for all our cats), and travel adventures. On one such adventure, our flight to Hawaii in November of 16', Fareed proposed to me at 40,000 feet in the air above the world! He somehow managed to get the whole crew on our American Airlines flight in on his plan, and I was completely surprised. I said yes! and next we were off to exploring new roads in Maui and Oahu.
The Big Day:
Fareed and I had our Hindu ceremony on June 1, 2018 at the mandir Shri Trimurti Bhavan in Queens, NY. We were so blessed and thankful to be with one another, but also to be surrounded by our amazing family and friends. The festivities continued into the next day where we had our reception at the Inn at New Hyde Park in Long Island, NY. This was another day of it sinking in that 'wow we're really married' (#dreamteam) and of course filled with lots of love and laughter. - Rosalie
